This explains the long journey Costmiku went through to get the site off the “dangerous” warning and indexed by the Google search engine
What even happened in the beginning?
Well, recently, we found out that when someone was trying to sign in to the Costmiku portal through Google Chrome, it showed the big scary red warning, saying that it’s a “dangerous site”. Details help us reveal that Google apparently thought it was a phishing attack.

Our friends at AeroNook for some reason, has also been hit with this issue somehow.

We both proceeded with reporting the incorrect phishing warning by going on this page:

So we proceeded to request a review. This was the message that was sent by kevadesu:
As the owner of Costmiku (costmiku.space), I would like to express that the website had no issues to begin with. The login page that has been set up at https://costmiku.space/yunohost/sso is not any deceptive site, but actually a login page to my YunoHost instance. YunoHost is a self-hosting platform that makes it easy to deploy and manage web services on your own server. It’s open-source, privacy-focused, and designed for personal or community use, not for malicious activity. I can guarantee you that it is NOT used for phishing you in any way. The way the entire account system works is basically that you sign up using a Google Forms formular, and then using the contact methods the person specified, the person receives the initial password to log in to the account, which they can change after first login. Thank you for your comprehension.
We sent it off, and waited.
On the next day, in kevadesu’s email:

To: Owner of costmiku.space,
Google has received and processed your security review request. Google systems indicate that costmiku.space no longer contains links to harmful sites or downloads. The warnings visible to users are being removed from your site. This may take a few hours.

Free at last…
Costmiku got indexed on Google?
Apparently, yeah! Here was the old result that showed up:

…which has nothing to do with that Costmiku actually is. Here is the accurate result:

A Google search results page for “costmiku” in dark mode. The search bar at the top shows the query “costmiku”. The first result is from “costmiku.space” titled “Costmiku – Just another ecosystem”, mentioning hosted services like Nextcloud, Immich, and Jitsi. The second result is from GitHub, titled “Lintine Foundation”, talking about program development and moving projects to Icycoide and Costmiku. The third result mentions “Icycoide & Costmiku”. The browser window is open with several icons and a profile picture visible in the top right corner.

Thank you for reading…whatever this was, and I hope to see you next time on this blog!
(don’t forget to sign up at costmiku.space, or do, up to you!)
